HISTORIC MURDERS OF PORTLAND: The Police Vigilante

It's been a while since I've used this blog, I think over a year. But I'm planning on utilizing this a bit more in correlation with my YouTube title of Steve the Amateur Historian. I have a YouTube channel under my name with an excess of 400 videos to this point. Lots of content on a variety of different things. Currently I am wrapped up in a probably unhealthy endeavor of looking into old murder cases that have occurred in my hometown of Portland, Oregon. I have produced some 50 videos on different cases for this series and have a good many that have not been published or gone live yet. I also have a playlist on my channel just for the videos in this series. But, anyway, going live at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow morning (in this case July 1, 2019), will be the next video in my series, with the link directly below here. It takes us back to 1924 and the shooting of a security guard named Joseph Coffin who was gunned down by a man named Maynard Cole who was identified as a "police vigilante". There's a lot of suspicion to this case, but due to his prominent status in the city of Portland as well as his connection to the police force, Cole was released and absolved of any wrongdoing. The shooting was deemed and accident. But I, for one, am rather skeptical of that conclusion.

      The following will be one element that I will address in an upcoming video on my YouTube channel: “Steve the Amateur Historian”. This video will be focusing on what is widely regarded as the case of the Lewis-Clark Valley Serial Killer. TED BUNDY ADMITTED KILLING TWO UNKNOWN WOMEN... I HAVE AN IDEA WHO THOSE TWO MAY BE

     I have been working on a series that I have titled “Mystery Murders” off and on for the last several months that focuses in, primarily, on a variety of different cases that have occurred in Oregon whether they be Jane Doe/John Doe cases, missing persons cases, unsolved cases, etc. To this point (end of January 2021) I have produced 15 episodes in the series, many of which have yet to be posted. One particular episode about a teenager named Joan Hall who vanished from Warrenton, Oregon back in 1983 was taken down after I received a barrage of harassment from a random assortment of people on the matter (but that’s a strange story for another day). But for the most part this videos have been well-received and people have noticed what I am trying to do with them with the limited resources I have (my greatest limiting resource is that I am doing these entirely on my own).     I have yet to, unless I am forgetting someone, receive a comment from a family member of any of these victims,

HISTORIC MURDERS OF PORTLAND: The Killer Who Traveled the World

Fresh video going live at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Haven't posted in a few days (been a stressful week... but things are looking up). Got a fresh Historic Murders of Portland episode here for you all that'll be going live chronicling a murder from back in the 1890s wherein a man named Burdette Wolf murdered his love interest who rebuked his advances and ultimately evaded authorities for at least 20 years... and possibly more. As far as I could see, I'm not dead certain if he was ever officially charged for his actions. But there's a lot to this overall story. Tune in tomorrow to get all of it!
